Set of the Day

by Roby

I noticed something missing from Imprisoned Whimsy today...GLAMOUR. Now, I've got nothing against glamour, except that usually it's a little, let's face it, predictable. Glamour is a little more scientific than I like, if you know what I mean. Pretty dress, snug fit around the torso, long flowing skirt, high heels, gems and diamonds, fresh, bright makeup, and some sort of up do. You can't really go wrong if these elements are in place. However, I'm usually bored by it. Not so with Roby. She manages to turn up the amps on glamour, and this one is at 11, for that extra push. The diamond earrings and ring match in color (which is actually not at all easy to do in polyvore)...the dress is just above the ankle, I believe, so the strappy shoe is perfect, sitting just below the hem line. The clutch, again, perfectly matches the jewelry. Nothing is overdone, it's all very tasteful. It takes an Italian, I guess :D Grazie, Roby, per portare un certo fascino a capriccioso incarcerato!(Spero che la mia traduzione sia comprensibile!)

The Honor!!

A week or so ago, I was interviewed by The bloggers behind Fashion Me Fabulous, an up and coming Fashion blog that I think has real potential for super-success. READ IT. lol. Anyway, The blog has been published today and I couldn't possibly be more honored by it. I'm a tough one to figure out, but they managed to come pretty close lol. So THANK you ladies, I am so indebted to you!!

New Background

Hey Gang,

I'm getting tired of the green background. I mean, it's pretty but...I get really easily bored with things, and it's time for something fresh. So I may be experimenting with the blog's look the next few days, and some links and things MAY get lost, although I'm going to try really hard to keep that from happening. And if they do, I will replace them.

Mid-Century Monday

Happy Mid-Century Monday, kittens! And with the new Fashion Central '50s Pin-up Contest in full swing, I think we ought to celebrate that fabulous '50s Icon...the Pin-Up!

"Blonde Dynamite"

I did this one a long long LONG time ago, so it's a little simpler than I generally like but...people seemed to like it and I believe this is the only true pin up still in my collection.

Set of the Day

amoeba saturday by Jilabel
So the set of the day is coming to you a little late today :D. I just got home from "Iron Man" (Totally rocks, I am so in love with R.Downey Jr. now, again)...so this is the best set ever. lol, I really, I can't say enough for it. It doesn't get better than this. The stripes everywhere in various widths and colors...speaking of colors, would you check out how that cardigan goes with the t-shirt? That's what I call good old fashioned pizazz. Of COURSE I dig the red Doc Martens. The jewelry is even comic book geek chic, with the lightning bolt and the kryptonite necklace. HOWEVER...this doesn't go overboard with the kitsch. It uses it to perfection, creating a beautifully complex and sophisticated palette that no less than delights the eye. Marvelous!
